Phystech's Biomedical School specializes in training professionals in the field of Life Science, who are acquainted with the system of Natural and Exact Sciences. In other words, we teach mathematics, physics, IT and chemistry in order for our students to apply these disciplines in biology and medicine.

The best laboratories

All our students perform scientific and project activities in the world-class laboratories. They develop new drugs, diagnostic systems, research antibodies and process big data to help to prevent infectious and oncology diseases.

All students can carry out their scientific work in any of the MIPT laboratories, as well as in the laboratories of our base organizations or industrial partners, in order to confirm or verify the results of their research.

The best applicants

We select the strongest and most motivated students. The average score of applicants in 2022 was 98 out of 100, and the average competition was 7 people per one seat. The background knowledge of such students allows them to practically master as much material in one semester in MIPT as it takes a whole academic year in other universities.

The first year students are taught by Physctech teachers on MIPT campus, whereas the second year students have to choose a certain major.

Campus

Phystech campus is located in Dolgoprudny, which is 15 minutes away from Moscow Automobile Ring Road and 40 minutes away from the center of Moscow. Our campus is equipped with a pool, gym, library and a unique infrastructure, which all students can use free of charge. It is easy to find true friends and have one of the most interesting and fruitful stages of your life here.

The Biomed school constantly hosts scientific intensive courses, seasonal internships, practices and workshops, excursions to existing scientific laboratories. In addition, our students participate in theatrical plays, KVN, play music and win prizes in sports activities.

In October 2023, the Institute of Biophysics of the Future was established on the basis of 17 laboratories of the MIPT School of Biological and Medical Physics and the Center for the Introduction of Genomic Technologies. The main task of the new academic structure will be to conduct research on human health management for effective disease prevention at the molecular level using modern biophysical and omix technologies. The work of the Institute implies the accelerated development of research and scientific and practical projects in the field of bioinformatics and digital medicine, cell biology and bioengineering, biophysics and medical chemistry, as well as medical instrumentation.
