Laboratory for Analysis of Population Health Indicators and Digitalization of Healthcare

On September 23, a delegation of the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) headed by the head of the Service visited the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology Pavel Malkov. During the meeting, the Rector of MIPT Dmitry Livanov and the head of Rosstat Pavel Malkov signed a cooperation agreement. Rosstat and MIPT have joint plans to implement joint projects in the field of research, education and the development of international contacts.

Within the framework of the agreement, teachers and students of Phys Tech will improve their qualifications and undergo retraining programs in the field of statistical accounting, will be able to attend lectures by representatives of Rosstat and the Statistical Research Institute of the department, as well as participate in scientific and practical conferences and seminars on statistics and statistical education.

"Our cooperation can give very good results. Phystech traditionally develops areas in the field of mathematics, computer technology, artificial intelligence and everything related to big data — this is the strength of our students and MIPT laboratories," said Dmitry Livanov, Rector of MIPT.

Also at the meeting, colleagues from Rosstat were presented the work of MIPT laboratories. In particular, Head of the Laboratory of Population health indicators and Digitalization of healthcare Stanislav Ostrovnov made a presentation about the activities of his laboratory. One of the directions of the researchers' work is the analysis of biomedical statistics data and digitalization of healthcare.

"It is pleasant that the institute is developing and growing. Rosstat is also changing: as one of the largest digital factories in the country, we are moving into a new digital era, and it is impossible to imagine this transition without MIPT," commented Pavel Malkov, head of Rosstat.
