Five students of the biomedical school of Phystech received one million rubles each

The Student Startup competition is part of the federal project Platform for University Technological Entrepreneurship, which aims to provide financial support to young scientists and small businesses related to science. This year, 1 billion rubles have been allocated from the federal budget for the competition.

In total, 2,300 startups participated in the competition, of which the jury at the first stage selected 650 winners, of which 16 are students of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, and 5 of them study at the Biomedical School of Phystech:

Maria Basova — "Genetic testing and a system for interpreting data from genetic studies" (4th year)

Andrey Berezhnoy – “A system for diagnosing ischemic damage to the tissue of the kidneys and ureters” (4th year)

Artem Yaroshenko – “Analytical center in the field of medical equipment and public procurement analysis” (4th year)

Ilya Ivashchenko – “Creation and development of a product based on biologically active additives to relieve the symptoms of alcohol intoxication and hangover” (5th year)

Diana Latypova — «Beauty&Mind. Personal assistant in the selection of cosmetics "(5th year)

Director of  MIPT Biomed School,  Denis Kuzmin:

“The fact that a third of the winners from MIPT study at our biomedical school is a special reason for pride. I congratulate all our students on their victory and an important step towards their development as scientists and entrepreneurs.”

To enter the list of winners, students and their startups had to go through several stages, including an independent examination, jury evaluation and defense (online or offline). Now the winning startups must fulfill all the conditions under which the grant is issued within a year:

1) Create a legal entity where the share of the grantee in the authorized capital should be more than 50%, and the grantee himself should become the general director.

2) Develop a business plan for the project and make a startup website.

3) Fill out a startup development report.

4) Create an MVP, while the product, product or technology of the grantee must be brought to a technological readiness level of at least TRL 3 (for those projects in whose applications this was envisaged).

MIPT Rector Dmitry Livanov:

“I would like to sincerely congratulate the MIPT students who proved the worth of their business ideas at the Student Startup competition. You demonstrate that Phystech is not only an advanced scientific school, but also a fertile ground for the emergence of breakthrough ideas and their implementation.”

In 2023, it is planned to select 1.5 thousand winners as part of the competition.
